A lot is happening here at ClearView Press, Inc. this month, and we're excited at what the new year will bring!
ClearView Press, Inc. President Michael Ray King has new words to share about an exciting collaboration with Daddy123.com, a web site dedicated to the father's side of parenting. The content ties in nicely with Michael's book, Fatherhood 101. Visit his President's Page for more information!
Rebekah Hunter Scott has begun work on her follow-up to Motherhood Is Easy... and it portends to be just as fun! Its working title is Pregnancy Is Easy: Unless You're the One Who's Pregnant and we look forward to sharing more information as it comes our way! Expect delivery in forty weeks... Ha!
And finally, our Spotlight this months shines on ClearView Press's first venture into pure fiction, and our emotions are ramped over the release of this title! Terrorcruise is Charles Brass's debut novel. This science-fiction action-adventure delivers fast-paced excitement, page-turning thrills and and ending that will leave you breathless! ClearView Press, Inc. President Michael Ray King participated in a panel discussion on publishing at the Main Branch Library in St. Augustine, Florida on Saturday, November 20, 2010. Also on the panel were Bill Reynolds of High Pitched Hum Publishing, Barnes & Noble representative Brad West, author Tim Robinson, and author Jack Owens. The panel discussion was sponsored by the Florida Writers Association. Seventy-five people attended the presentation with a spirited Q&A afterward.
Rogues Gallery Writer Jeff Swesky represented CVP at the Miami Book Festival November 19-21. Joining him in a pic or two is Honorary Rogues Gallery Writer Jenny Chambers. Author Rik Feeney, who books Back Handsprings and the Kitten/Puppy Lovers Journals are available in our Bookstore, also enjoyed the festivities on this bright, sunny day.
A new poetry book by Michael Ray King, Poetry in Black and White, is in the works and should be available Spring, 2011. This book will include Mr. King’s poetry as well as artistic interpretations of each poem, rendered in pencil or charcoal. In addition, The Writing Life, also by Mr. King, will hit our shelves in Spring 2011. This book addresses Michael's observations of the writing and publishing industry and the changes they are experiencing. Look for news of both upcoming books here at CVP.

This Saturday, November 13, join Rebekah Hunter Scott, author of Motherhood Is Easy..., and several other local artists and authors at Historic Grounds Books and Gifts for a book signing, as part of Green Cove Springs' Celebration of the Arts! The fun happens between 4-9 Saturday evening! Come out and enjoy some art, literature (and wine) and support our local artists! Congratulations to Susan Marion! Her book, Freeing Unconditional Love, launched in a festive affair at the Golden Lion Cafe in Flagler Beach, Florida on Monday, November 1. Many well-wishers came by to offer their support and purchase signed copies of Susan's insightful and inspirational book. Pics are now available on the Spotlight: Freeing Unconditional Love page!

The results are in, the voters have spoken and ClearView Press, Inc. can be proud of two of its own!
On Friday, October 21, 2010, at 8:00am, the 9th Annual Florida Writers Association Conference kicked off with 3 four-hour workshops covering the subjects of “Crafting Unforgettable Stories/Characters”, “Writer’s Guide to Using the Law in Your Story” and “The Prolific Poet” (for more information visit www.floridawriters.net).
At the Royal Palm Literary Awards Banquet that followed on Saturday, October 21, 2010, our own Rebakah Hunter Scott took home 1st Place in the Published Humor/Satire category with her outstanding, humorous look at why Motherhood is Easy...
Fellow Rogues Gallery Writer and ClearView Press, Inc. President Michael Ray King took home 1st and 2nd Place in the Published Poetry category for the poems Melody of a New Dawning and No One’s There, both poems appearing in the book Loves Lost and Found.
In addition to the poetry awards, Michael took home a 1st Place trophy in the Unpublished Short Story category for Why Me? Michael has now won five RPLAs; in 2008 he took Honorable Mention for his book Fatherhood 101 and in 2009 he was awarded 1st Place for the Published Poem Rendezvous.

Also in the news, the Florida Writers Association Conference takes place this Friday, October 22, in Lake Mary, Florida. And for our own Michael Ray King, Rebekah Scott Hunter and Jeff Swesky of the Rogues Gallery Writers, a number of coveted Royal Palm Literary Awards (RPLAs) are up for grabs! Michael's nominations include two poems, two published short stories and one unpublished short story. Rebekah's Motherhood Is Easy... has received a well-deserved RPLA finalist nod. And Jeff joins Michael in the published and unpublished short story categories with two finalists of his own. Good luck, Rogues Gallery! The staff at ClearView Press, Inc. certainly have their fingers and toes crosses for all of these nominations!
Finally, President Michael Ray King has some words about a recent web site's classification of ClearView Press as a "vanity press"- with all the baggage implied- that while technically true, completely misses the fact that all publishers are vanity presses! As September draws to a close here at ClearView Press, Inc, we celebrate two exciting developments! To celebrate the launching of their new book, Writing Is Easy, the Rogues Gallery Writers will be having a Book Release/ Bunko Bash on Saturday, October 2, 2010, 11am - 3pm at A Taste of Portugal located at 15 Palm Harbor Village Way, directly across Old Kings Road from the Staples Shopping Center. Everyone is welcome to come enjoy the fun!
Additionally, ClearView Press, Inc. is proud to welcome author Susan Ann Marion! Her book, Freeing Unconditional Love: Unchaining Your True Self, will be out early November, 2010! Writing Is Easy, our second summer release, comes from the minds of the Rogues Gallery Writers. These four up-and-coming authors deliver new works of fiction, then offer insights into how the works came to be. Additionally, all four member of the Rogues Gallery Writers talk about writing, creating characters, developing plots and serve as inspiration for authors searching for their own path to publication.

In our Spotlight, Rebekah Hunter Scott makes news by getting her book excerpted by American Baby magazine. Also, Ann Marie O'Roark compiled and edited the upcoming book Bearding the Lion that Roared. The Rogues Gallery Writers' book, Writing is Easy should be available for sale by August 2010. In the wings is The Writer's Life by Michael Ray King, who has also posted new words on the President's Page.

Rebekah H. Scott's book, Motherhood Is Easy...as long as you have nothing else to do for the next 50 years... has hit the shevles (so to speak)! On April 25th, Rebekah and friends gathered to celebrate the arrival of the first official copies of her wonderful book. Shortly after, on May 1, 2010, Rebekah held a book signing to celebrate the launch of Motherhood Is Easy! We've dedicated a page here at ClearView Press, Inc. for these fantastic events, and appreciate Rebekah sharing these images of her and her family and friends.

We examined our content, settled on a clear, easy-to-read format and now welcome you in!
On this page, you will find the latest goings-on at ClearView Press, Inc., including forthcoming books, author and publisher appearances in local and national media outlets, and other activities we're sure you'll find of interest. With each topic we will post relevant links, some deeper into our home page, others to the pages of our friends and associates.
Additionally, in our Spotlight page, you'll find the author or book or event we feel deserves our primary focus. This month, the Spotlight falls on Rebekah Hunter Scott and her forthcoming book, Motherhood Is Easy...as long as you have nothing else to do for the next 50 years...
