Spotlight: FWA RPLA Banquet 2010
ClearView Press, Inc. authors score wins at the 2010 Florida Writers Association Conference RPLA Banquet
On Saturday, October 21, 2010, at the Florida Writers 2010 Conference RPLA Banquet in Lake Mary, Florida, Michael Ray King and Rebekah Hunter Scott took home 1st and 2nd place Royal Palm Literary Awards in a variety of categories for their work over the past year! Rebekah led the way with a big, 1st place win in the Published Humor/Satire category for her Motherhood Is Easy... ClearView Press, Inc. President Michael King added two RPLAs for 1st and 2nd place wins in the Published Poetry category, with two poems from Loves Lost and Found, Melody of a New Dawning and No One's There.
Additionally, in the Unpublished Short Story category, Michael's Why Me? garnered 1st place recognition. This brings his total RPLA count- including a 2008 Honorable Mention award for Fatherhood 101 and a 2009 1st place Published Poetry award for Rendezvous- to five!
Not be outdone, fellow Rogues Gallery Writer Jeff Swesky received two finalist nominations of his own in the Published and Unpublished Short Story categories. Alas, the RPLAs went elsewhere. Keep writing, Jeff! Your share of RPLAs will come!
Additionally, editor and ClearView Press friend Nancy Quatrano earned herself an award for her work on Murder in Black and White in the Unpublished Mystery category.
