Query Guidelines

The following guidelines are important. Failure to adhere to them will cause your query to be deleted.

  1. ClearView Press, Inc. accepts e-queries only. Hard copy mailings will go directly to the recycle bin.
  2. Your email's subject line needs to grab our attention.
  3. The body of your query should contain three and only three items:
    • a one paragraph pitch of your book
    • a one paragraph "about the author" blurb
    • a one paragraph explanation of the projected niche market to which the book will be sold
  4. Your query should be one page in length. Multiple pages earn the delete key. Do not attach a manuscript! If we like what we read in your query, we will get back to you. If you send any attachments at all, the entire query will earn the delete key.
  5. If we like the query, we will send instructions as to what we want next.

Please, adhere to these guidelines. We periodically have to replace the delete key on our keyboards because some people just won't follow directions. Follow the rules! Do not condemn your work to electronic death. All queries should be sent to: R.H. Davidson @ ClearView Press, Inc.

Manuscript Guidelines

Use the following guidelines when submitting a manuscript upon our request (unsolicited manuscripts go straight into the recycle bin):

  1. All manuscript submissions need to be in digital format only! We are unable to process hard copies effectively.
  2. Microsoft Word (any version) is preferred. WordPerfect and .pdf files are also acceptable. For any other formats, please e-mail R.H. Davidson @ ClearView Press, Inc. for further instructions.
  3. While we do provide limited in-house editing, we strongly recommend you submit your manuscript for a final, professional edit before delivering it to us as a final draft. We can provide the names of professional editors we have worked with in the past.
